Ellie dusted her shirt off before
hearing the other ask about her parents.
The auburn looked away, wondering if
she should say ‘my parents are dead’
or just lie and say they’re on vacation
or something. In the end of her thinking,
she decided to ignore the question and
hopefully the last one would sate the other.
”Well, I am by myself.
For now. A friend of mine
has a cabin in the forest
around here, and I was
going to visit him.”
Wendy regretted asking about her parents as the girl hesitated before answering her. But regret soon gave way to more concern as she admitted to visiting a friend in the forest. “Do you want some company getting there? The woods aren’t exactly safe here.” She’d feel guiltier if this girl ended up running into a multi-bear or a gremloblin or some other supernatural horror.
