Dipper had spent his summer doing his chores or hanging with Mabel. The past school year had been…exhausting, to say the least. He’d been in some AP classes, and spent most of his nights doing homework or catching up on some reading.
But it was summer now, and apart from doing chores and being with his twin, he wanted to go explore. To unravel even more mysteries of Gravity Falls. Currently, he was wandering through the woods, glancing around cautiously.
He hadn’t expected anyone else to come along. Hearing and seeing a very familiar face, he broke out into a huge smile.
“Wendy, hey!” He wanted to kick himself for still loving her. He figured things would have been easier once he revealed his true feelings, but that’d been years ago when he was just a kid. Now, he was sixteen (nearly seventeen), and the feelings were still there.
“Nothing much. Just…exploring, you know? What about you? Why are you out here?”
“About the same, just looking around and sorta wandering around.” Hands in her pockets, Wendy gave a casual shrug. A sheepish smile graced her features as she admitted, “I got home from school a while ago. I kinda really missed the forest here while I was gone.”
It was odd to see him again after not seeing him in—she didn’t know when she last saw him. She wondered if it’d been the last summer, or the summer before. Either way, it didn’t matter, she supposed. It wasn’t important if she’d seen Dipper months or years ago. Now that she was in college, she clung tightly to her friends from her hometown.
"What’s today’s big mystery?“ Wendy remembered he had always carried that spooky looking journal whenever he went; she wouldn’t be surprised if he still had that creepy old thing. "Or are you just exploring for the heck of it?”
