It was the second summer since Wendy had started college and she found she’d been as homesick her sophomore year of college as she’d been her freshman year. Because of this, she was going to spend as much time as humanly outside of her home, taking in the familiar sights and sounds of her hometown. Nothing had changed since she left, which many young adults would deem stale and boring, but she found comfort in the stability.
The summer was still young, but she was already hard at work at completing her mission to explore every inch of the town before school started again. Wendy split her time between the town proper and the mysterious forest that surrounded the town, not wanting to favour one over the other.
She was having a forest day when she ran into him. She’d been exploring the forest near the Mystery Shack and not thinking much of it—she didn’t think she’d actually see anyone else. The forests were usually void of other people, considering the weird and at time downright creepy vibes it gave. Wendy was exploring a part of the woods she’d never been in before when she first caught a glimpse of an unfamiliar figure. With slow, cautious footsteps, she got nearer to the stranger to find a face she recognised.
"Yo, Dip!“ She stepped out from the shadows to reveal herself, a lazy smile on her face. "What's up, dude?”
