“Dude!” Wendy squealed when Tambry dumped water on her. She knew she’d dared her to do it, but she didn’t Tam would actually go through with it. Laughing, she pushed the wet hair from her face. “That was awesome!”

“Yeah, I will. No problem, Wendy.” Tambry turned to look down at the brown blob of fur in her lap, scratching behind his ears and allowing the ghost of a smile to appear on her lips. Compromise was nice. Not as nice as total friendship, of course, but she couldn’t expect that to happen so quickly when she didn’t even know the full details of the break up. It was simply too hard to decipher Robbie’s words between sobs, and his handwriting was too shaky to read whenever he was in one of his moods.

At least he was on the road to recovery, having taken a break from being a totally heartbroken idiot over the past few days. “Actually, yeah, he is. We’re still texting each other a lot, and sometimes he even comes over to hang out. He even dragged me out to that mini golf place in town to check out the stuff he’d spray painted the day before, but we had to go back later before we could get in for ‘safety reasons’. Finally managed to get in yesterday to see he wrote ‘wieners’ on the castle. What a nerd.”

“Thanks again, Tam. I owe you one.” She gave a relieved smile, glad that she wouldn’t have to talk to Robbie just yet. She was only too aware that she’d have to talk to him and smooth things over eventually, but she wanted to make sure their friendship wouldn’t too weird with their current history. It was good to hear that he was slowly getting over her—it was almost as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

"He was the one who did that?“ Wendy, while amused, was not in the least bit surprised. Robbie always seemed to be graffiti-ing something. She never understood his weird hobbies, but it always amused her to see his dumb, crude drawings or words in the most random places in town. She laughed at the word he had spray painted on the mini golf course, unable to stop herself. "Wow, I can’t believe he did that. Wiener, really? What is he, thirteen?”

“Not even close! Hell, Robs and I both ran literal circles around the guy’s golf cart when he recognized him the other...

"Did they ever catch him?” Considering how fast Robbie ran, Wendy doubted it, but she was still interested all the same....
